He Lives Where????, (this still makes me laugh)

ILOILO CITY – Police recovered a huge quantity of dried marijuana leaves during a raid Saturday morning in Buenavista town in Guimaras.

However, the subject of the search warrant was able to elude police by jumping into a river. Senior Inspector Jeffrey Rosgal, chief of the Buenavista police, said in a radio interview Saturday that they recovered one big pack of marijuana leaves and 37 small sachets containing similar leaves from the house of Wesley Yan Sarate in Barangay Sto. Rosario.

The pack contained enough marijuana leaves that could later be repacked into more than 37 sachets, Rosgal said.

They also recovered two cigarette lighters and empty sachets which they believe Sarate uses in repacking marijuana leaves.

Rosgal suspects that Sarate gets his supply of illegal drugs from Iloilo City.

“We have been staking him out for almost a month now, and we were able to conduct a test-buy from him,” he said. Eventually, they were able to secure a search warrant from Judge Merlin Deloria.

Rosgal said that Sarate lives in the middle of a fishpond. “From where he is, he could see us coming, so he was able to escape by jumping into the river,” Rosgal said.

McKenzie maintained that the works were “heartfelt and delicate.”

Cassini Probe Photo's From NASA

image This is Saturn backlit by the sun, it was taken by the Cassini Probe for NASA.

At this distance, NASA dares not point the probes sensitive cameras at the Earth because from almost a billion miles away, Terra and sun are too close together and the sun's harsh light could destroy Cassini's camera. However, in this instance (below) when the sun was eclipsed by Saturn, NASA jumped on the opportunity to deliver this breathtaking shot

Imagine Finding This In Your Trap

It's the mightiest mouse the world has ever seen - one of the really big cheeses of the animal kingdom.

The prehistoric throwback - easily capable of putting the cat out - was bigger than a bull and weighed around a TON.

It lived four million years ago in the South American rain forest. The super-rodent's existence was revealed after a complete fossilised skull was found in Uruguay.

Scientists say it comes from the Dinomyidae family of mice - but is far bigger than anything discovered so far.

Writing in the Royal Society Journal of Proceedings B, they reckon it could have grown to 2,500kg.

Ice Waves in Antarctica

image

In Antarctica  you can find these strange formations that look like giant waves frozen in place.  Actually, these beautiful formations are caused by glaciers and earthquakes.  Over time, snow compacts into a single frozen mass and the increasing pressure squeezes all of the air out of the ice.  Since blue is the only color of the spectrum that air-free ice reflects, that is where the color comes from.

German Ingenuity Overcomes Smoking Ban

Michael Windisch, proprietor of the Maltermeister Turm restaurant in Goslar, Lower Saxony, Germany, solved what has become a crisis for other restaurants since the state extended a smoking ban in August. Windisch opened three holes in an outer wall so that, in cold weather, a smoker need not venture outside they can stick their head and arms through the holes and smoke away while remaining snug as a German cockroach inside!

According to police in Honolulu in January, it was Ellis Cleveland who robbed four banks within a five-day span,so when police put this to 'Brains' Cleveland at the time of his arrest, he declared, "Four. I didn't do four. I only robbed three banks. But it doesn't matter because I'm not talking to you guys. I want a lawyer." Police later said that Cleveland was not counting the attempted robbery on Dec. 31 of the Bank of Hawaii because, after three different tellers tried unsuccessfully to decipher his holdup note, Cleveland gave up and walked out empty-handed.
